CPSIA of 2008

I'd be willing to bet it does? What is it you ask? The CPSIA of 2008 is an act of Congress which was passed in November and goes into effect on February 10, 2009. This law will affect MILLIONS of people in the United States by requiring the test for lead and phthalates in ALL products intended for use by children under the age of 12. This includes all new, used, and handmade toys, clothes, furniture - EVERYTHING!! If your children wear clothes - you are affected as much as anyone else! Due to the broadness of this law in the way it is currently written, even thrift stores and charities will no longer be able to sell their goods for children without spending THOUSANDS of dollars on testing before they can sell the items. I urge you to read this law and write your lawmakers! We cannot afford for this law to go into effect as written! http://www.cpsc.gov/cpsia.pdf
